JOB DESCRIPTION

The individual shall assist in or conduct one or more of the following: setting up, monitoring, and maintaining experiments in the field; conducting routine laboratory and greenhouse experiments; collecting, measuring, and recording biological data; using laboratory and field equipment to measure biotic activity levels and biological data; using laboratory and field equipment to measure biotic activity levels and biological and ecological parameters; collecting, compiling, summarizing and limited analysis of habitat, vegetation, wildlife populations, biotic, soil and water data and related information; summarization of field and experimental data in tabular, graphic, or narrative form; entering data into analytical computer programs; assisting junior and senior biologist or scientists in analyzing results; perform routine maintenance on, operate and calibrate field and data collecting equipment; operation of motor vehicles, boats up to 25 feet.
REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
Ability to work independently within established guidelines and operational procedures to ensure uniform data collection between field personnel and succeeding years of data collection and sampling.
One year experience in data entry and knowledge of PC-based computer systems.
Must obtain all necessary licenses prior to operating any Government Furnished Equipment (GFE)
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Highly desirable that this individual possess a Bachelor’s degree(or Equivalent) and knowledge or experience in one or more of the following specialties: biology, zoology, ecology, botany, wildlife, and/or fisheries biology equivalent to one (1) year of post-undergraduate study.
